Today we’re checking out SoBro, aka South of Broadway (nobody really calls it that), in Nashville, Tennessee!
A great spot in the heart of downtown and one of the best neighborhoods in Nashville. SoBro is a tourist hot spot, but you’ll likely find yourself here for entertainment. Home to Bridgestone Arena and Music City Center (convention center), such a great area in downtown Nashville!

SoBro Vibes
Home to only about 2,500 residents, SoBro is not necessarily a place I think of where people who live in Nashville - live. That’s not to say there aren’t plenty of great places to live here. Mostly I think of it as a temporary or transient spot and those who dig downtown living.
Voted the 13th best place for young professionals and 21st best places to live in Tennessee. If downtown and the condo lifestyle is something you like, this may be a great spot.
Home Price Statistics Only about 20% of residents here own. And I don’t mean single family homes, I mean condos. Ranging from about $400-$500k, there are only a few condos currently on the market. With a median sale price of about $450k, it can be affordable. There is not a single, single family home in SoBro.
Pros + Cons
Pros:
Endless things to do - tons of great bars, top-notch restaurants, and of course music venues
Surprisingly good schools for a downtown area
Rated one of the best places to live in Tennessee, especially for young professionals
Super walkable
People are excited to be here
Cons:
The hustle ‘n bustle is real - may not be for everyone
Only condos or apartments available - if you’re looking for a single family home, this is not the neighborhood
Doesn’t really have your traditional amenities - no Target, not a proper grocery store, etc
Parking can be a bummer
